Assignment 3A: Casket4me

Assignment 3A was an interesting one..

we're required to design our own casket for ourselves regarding these criterias:

Sketch-

1) A casket for u and ur sarong

2) How u are placed in it.

3) How 6 of ur friends are to carry ur casket

4) What if it's made of bamboo?

well, my concept's pretty simple. i decided to make my casket directly out of bamboo..

the idea is dat the body is simply tied up into a sitting position like a 'King'

the sarong tied around the neck and head are also signs that a 'King' will be wearing the cape.

The photos around it are memories of what i've done before i moved on.

The other sketch is how 6 of my friends are to carry my casket.

why i decided to only colour the sarong? simply because i wanted it to be more brought up upon viewing..

A word from the Author:

This wasn't my best idea but it's the only unusual idea stuck in my head.. =.=!!!

I fit the 4 requirements into 2 sketches but yet u can just still do 3 or 4 where most of friends are doing it.. @@

Draw sausage ppl instead of real ppl, and also draw with scale~! hahax.. tat's how it helped me, i drew with scale and i realized that it was way much more easier.. =p

This assignment won't be consuming much time, but last minute works are just not encouraged !! =p

Human Dimension

2day we had rapid sketches again .

1b gave us these exercises to train our skills and timing during drawing.

i'm so noob in drawing so sketching nice pictures in such a short time just doesnt work for me. =(

here's what we call drawing a human dimension.

we used our 'jengkal' to measure the length of our full body in a ratio of 1:10, 1:50, and 1:100

Then we're required to sketch many many many MANY cubes overlapping each other with these characteristics:

1) opaque

2) transluscent

3) transparent

4) shadow

5) shade

6) overlap

it's a production of a newbie.. ^^

Rejected

Last Monday, Ar Najib told us about our previous assignment which is due on this coming Monday .

What about giving too general an assignment? It could be in so many aspects.

and when i showed my drawings , it was freaking rejected.. so wrong.... ==!!

anyways, i drew 2 more new pictures.

hopefully this is not rejected again. i've wasted seriously lotsa time in this..

The Black Parade

The submission of the mask.

Everyone was required to wear entirely black 2day.

and so as i expect that we're suppose to hand up the masks 2day, we're just required to parade around HBP.. @@

with our desired masks. of coz i'll choose my white wan la.. my skin coloured mask is like so brown.. @@ too dark ad.. =.=!!!

And b4 we ended, we wrote our names and took a 3 group photos. without our masks, with our skin coloured mask, then with our black and white mask.

and credits to my group member~!!!!! ^^

the 6 of us seriously put our effort together and did a great job~! nice working with you guys.. =)

And so the submission session ended and we proceeded with our rapid sketches. =)

Any Time means No Time

Assignment 2C: The Mask

The assignment that i'm curious about is here at last.. hahahax..

We are required to do 2 masks of our own face. 1 wif our same skin colour and another one with emotion but black and white:

In this assignment,

Intention: To design 2 mask. 1 of our skin colour and another with emotion.

Act: Buying materials e.g: PVA glue, morning wrap, tapioca flour, etc. Tracing the mask on the face with tissue and then drying it. Painting and designing it.

Product: The masks

Place: E48B, HBP.

Rule: To paint the 1st one with our skin colour and the other one black and white with emotion.

Actor: Me, my group members, and 1b.

right after class, we went and buy some materials for the mask... had my papier machie idea already... but we're still trying some errors.. =pwe have our tapioca floor, pva flue and morning wrap. and also a brush and other things.
this is our PVA glue mix wif water.who's ready to rock and roll????? xD

so the first guinea pig was yim quan. hahahax.. kesian her.. @@

i'm trying with plastic wrapped on her face and the tissue damped on her face wif glue..

nex is gan.. we're trying on him the clay method.. tat clay costs us rm6 !!!! =.=!!!!!!

but at last it failed.. coz i think we're not clever enuff to handle that clay,, hahahx.. so back to the first method la.. =p

so that night we did the preparations to do some more masks...

after i did mine, i was so hungry... it took 2 hours and so for us to settle down.. even 1b came and 'visited' us.. hahax.took a few pictures and left.. haha hopefully it's not gonna be on the net.. @@

and i did for my friends too.,. we seriously needed some teamwork here... hahax

now wad's left is the colouring.. will update bout that soon.. ^^ oh yeah and some videos are to come too.. =)

Additional Info:

For my future juniors, i've tried clay, it didn't work for me. but yet some ppl still can manage clay. so if u guys think that u wanna try it out, check out some of my friend's blog. =)

i've tried using plastic wrap but 1b said it'll distort the face. so i tried baby oil on the face, and then slowly trace the face shape using wet tissue for the first layer and den continuously using pva glue and tissue.

if u don't trust the chemicals in PVA glue, u can always use starch. =)

don't forget the hairdryer. if not u'll not be on time handing up the assignment. =p

cover it for at least 4 layers of tissue. but the more u layer it, the more difficult it is to see the shape of your face.

so have fun trying. mine went perfectly well. =)
